Athletic Advisors

Greg Foster - Athletic Advisory Board Chairman, is a member of the United States Track & Field Hall of Fame ranked among the top ten 110m hurdlers in the world 15 times, a record for a running event, and achieved the number-one ranking five times. 

Jackie Joyner-Kersee - Athletic Advisor, won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals over four consecutive Olympic Games.  Jackie Joyner-Kersee was one of the greatest Olympic athletes in history and the only women in history to be named Sportsman of the Year by the Sporting News.

 

Scientific Advisors

The following scientists are members of Exertron’s Scientific Advisory Committee.  As industry “thought leaders”, their primary role is to design research studies that marquee customers such as Dr. Wayne Wescott, for example, will perform.  

 

Dr. Vladimir Zatsiorsky, Director of the Biomechanics Laboratory at Penn State University and former Department Chair of the Department of Biomechanics at the Central Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow.  Dr. Zatsiorsky has authored and co-authored more than 300 scientific journal articles. In recognition of his achievements, Dr. Zatsiorsky has received several awards, including the Geoffrey Dyson Award from the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport, the society’s highest honor.

 

Dr. Richard Nelson, Emeritus Professor of Biomechanics at Penn State University since 1995. He has presented over 195 papers at professional and scientific meeting since 1960. Among them are biennial Biomechanics Congresses sponsored by the International Society of Biomechanics, Olympic Scientific Congress held in Quebec City, 1976, Tbilisi, USSR, 1980, Eugene, Oregon, 1984, Dan Kook University, S. Korea, 1986, Colorado Springs, 1989, Barcelona, Spain, 1991 and Atlanta, 1995. Since 1960 over 120 presentations have been made in the U.S. and in 42 foreign countries. These presentations focused on emerging science of biomechanics and its role in improving human performance and reducing injuries.

 

Dr. Mark Grabiner, chairman of the Department of Kinesiology at University of Illinois - Chicago. Mark D. Grabiner is Professor and Director of the School of Kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  After earning his doctorate from the University of Illinois - Urbana, he served as a faculty member at the University of Southern California prior to joining the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  Dr. Grabiner is the author of 85 referred publications, 2 books, and numerous chapters.  He sits on several Editorial Boards including that of Clinical Biomechanics, The American Journal of Sports Medicine, the Journal of Biomechanics, and The Journal of Knee Surgery and served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Biomechanics for seven years.
